Job summary

GTI Energy in the Chicago area seeks a Manager of Accounts Payable to lead the full AP function, ensure timely payments, and maintain strong internal controls. You will manage vendor relationships, implement process improvements, and support month-end close in partnership with the Controller.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years AP leadership, GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP systems. Hybrid work model with on-site Tue-Thu and remote Mon/Fri.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of accounts payable experience, including leading teams within accounts payable or general accounting.
• Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full accounts payable cycle including invoice receipt, three-way matching, coding, approvals, and payment disbursement for a high volume of invoices.
• Recruit, supervise, develop, and train accounts payable staff to enhance customer service and efficiency.
• Enforce internal controls over cash disbursements and ensure compliance with GAAP and federal procurement regulations.
• Act as primary liaison for external vendors concerning payment inquiries and disputes.
• Leverage technology to improve AP efficiency and lead automation and system enhancements.
