Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking an Air Quality Specialist/Engineer to provide air quality compliance, permitting, and technical support across the natural gas business unit.

The role may be filled at Specialist or EHS Engineer level depending on experience, with responsibilities spanning permit submittals, regulatory interpretation, and liaison with federal, state, and local officials. Location options include Houston, TX, Denver, CO, Birmingham, AL or Tulsa, OK.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience preparing and submitting emissions inventories, air permit applications and other environmental compliance documentation; 5+ years preferred.
• Working knowledge of LDAR regulations at natural gas processing plants.
• Regulatory analyses: interpret agency rules, guidance, and regulations.
• Knowledge of Clean Air Act, NSPS/NSR and related regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication; experience training and interacting with officials.
• Proficient with MS Office and common databases.

Responsibilities

• Complete various air permit and compliance submittals.
• Track and interpret air quality regulations and advise management on future concerns.
• Interact with federal, state, and local officials.
• Maintain relationships with operations, engineering, and business staff.
• Plan, organize, and oversee assigned work programs.
• Monitor schedules and budgets; evaluate third-party contractors.
• Review emissions testing results and environmental compliance inspections.
• Represent the company on industry air quality committees.
