Job summary

Harvard University’s Harvard Business School is seeking a Research Manager, AI to serve as the in-house expert on research compliance, finance, and policy related to artificial intelligence tools. The role reports to the HBS AI Institute Director of Research Services and supports faculty and researchers across the institute.

The position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence in Boston, MA, with a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in higher education or research preferred.
• Experience with IRBs, DUAs, and data safety submissions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Configures and co-develops AI tools to support researchers' documentation (IRB submissions, DUA exhibits, SOWs, budgets).
• Identifies opportunities for agentic AI to streamline compliance workflows and develops deployment strategies.
• Partners with DRFD to enhance AI tools for reviewers and approvers of research compliance documents.
• Serves as in-house policy expert on University and HBS policies and their intersections.
• Conducts training on research policies and AI tools for researchers and postdocs; promotes responsible conduct of research.
