Job summary

Flexi Software seeks a Sr. Director, Software Engineering to stand up and lead a second AI-forward engineering practice. You will hire, set technical direction, and ship web-based software while upholding security and reliability for financial institutions.

This hands-on, player-coach role reports to the CTO and will be based in our Atlanta, GA office, collaborating with the CTO and teams to drive architecture and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years in software engineering and architecture with hands-on coding
• 5+ years leading technical teams, including building engineering from the ground up
• Strong hands-on depth in modern web development — JavaScript, HTML, React, Vite, and related frontend techs
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server and scalable DB performance
• Proven AI-forward leadership accelerating delivery using AI tooling
• Experience delivering software to regulated, high-trust environments (security, reliability, data integrity)
• Strong judgment in technical decisions, cost tradeoffs, risk management, and execution planning
• Excellent communication with executives, product teams, engineers, and stakeholders
• Experience with ERP/enterprise systems is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Stand up a second AI-forward engineering practice and hire, structure, and lead the team
• Own end-to-end delivery of the next-generation platform from architecture to release
• Hands-on player-coach: code, review, and uplift team quality
• Lead AI-driven delivery acceleration across coding, testing, and documentation
• Build on modern web tech (JavaScript, HTML, React, Vite) with SQL Server backend
• Maintain enterprise security, reliability, resilience, and data integrity standards
• Define architecture standards and integration with existing C++/C# systems
• Establish engineering discipline: coding standards, testing, CI/CD, observability
• Manage cloud platforms and cloud spend; optimize cost vs scalability
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers; coach future technical leaders
• Define engineering KPIs: velocity, reliability, performance, cost
• Partner with Product to translate roadmaps into shipped software
