Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and evolve AI solutions that deliver measurable value across the organization. You will translate use-case intent into production-ready agents, models, and workflows within enterprise governance standards.

Responsibilities include developing AI solutions, implementing end-to-end workflows, applying guardrails, and collaborating across the AI delivery lifecycle to ensure scalable, observable deployments in a critical infrastructure

Qualifications

• Experience building AI and ML applications in enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and APIs.
• Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions by building agents that reason, plan, and act with models, tools, and enterprise data.
• Implement end-to-end use-case workflows from data ingestion to AI execution.
• Apply responsible AI and guardrails within agent logic and prompts.
• Collaborate with architects and ML Ops to ensure deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize prompts, models, and agent interactions for accuracy and cost.
• Support rapid prototyping while aligning with enterprise deployment standards.
• Continuously refine agent behavior based on feedback and observability.
