Job summary

The Moret Group is seeking an Associate Designer for Activewear in New York City. This full-time, hybrid role reports to the Design Director and covers the complete product lifecycle, including trend research, sketches, tech packs, color CADs, and fit review.

Collaboration with Sales, Production, and overseas partners is required. Ideal candidates have a fashion/apparel background with 2+ years of experience, strong Illustrator/Photoshop skills, and proven ability to manage multiple design tasks

Qualifications

• Degree in fashion/apparel focus or equivalent experience (2+ years).
• Knowledge of fabric, garment construction, and activewear.
• Experience with overseas development and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work independently or in a group.
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trend, color, and print research for each season.
• Create technical sketches and tech packs for development.
• Create color CADs for presentations.
• Communicate with overseas factories.
• Source swatches/trims for fabric development.
• Review samples for customer meetings and ensure licensing compliance.
• Maintain an organized design space and files.
• Assist in organizing samples in the design showroom.
• Prepare color cards for internal and external use.
• Assist in preparing pitch decks and client samples.
