Job summary

King County is seeking a detail-oriented Fiscal Specialist III for the Road Services Division to support the Finance team. This internal SDA role reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and focuses on invoices, reimbursements, and payment processing at the Renton Maintenance facility.

The ideal candidate demonstrates accuracy, customer service, and collaboration while maintaining audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload with high accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
• Resourcefulness to research information independently when needed.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, basic accounting systems and methods.
• Data entry proficiency and ability to rectify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable operations including invoice and payment processing, vendor management, and budget coding.
• Process employee reimbursements, purchase card transactions, and check payments.
• Organize and maintain invoices, contracts, and other financial records with proper coding.
• Verify accuracy of accounting documentation and prepare corrections as needed.
• Prepare and approve purchase requisitions and expense reports.
• Communicate policies, procedures and codes to internal and external customers.
