Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Office of the State Treasurer and Receiver General seeks an Accountant I to ensure GAAP-compliant processing of cash receipts, deposits, and ledger maintenance within a team. The role collaborates with internal departments and external partners, handling confidential information and meeting statutory deadlines.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and Word.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and terminology.
• Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial and general reports.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills to solve accounting related problems.
• Strong organizational skills and data integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work independently.

Responsabilidades

• Process and record cash receipts and deposits in the internal member database and accounting software.
• Administer fiscal services general email boxes and process remote check deposits.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and post accounting entries; review custodian bank reports.
• Review invoices for payment and respond to inquiries regarding assigned agency functions.
• Communicate with internal units and external partners; develop knowledge of MGL C. 32 and Treasury policies.
