Job summary

SmartStop® Self Storage in Ladera Ranch, CA is seeking an Accountant for a hybrid role. You will oversee the monthly property financial close for about 20 self-storage properties, maintain internal controls, treasury, and internal reporting, with a hybrid schedule after training: Tues–Thu in office; Mon & Fri remote.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, GAAP experience, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical and communication abilities to thrive in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable work experience.
• Experience with GAAP financial statements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
• Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and oral & written communication skills.
• Be detail oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company.

Responsibilities

• Produce journal entries, banking and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements.
• Analyze budget and actual results to report variances.
• Support integration of new acquisitions as needed.
• Compile a monthly reporting package for each property.
• Other accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.
