Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences seeks a Sr. Academic Affairs Analyst to oversee academic personnel matters within the Health Sciences faculty. You will advise on appointments, compensation, leaves, and related policies, working with faculty and departmental leadership on compliance and program implementation.

Hybrid schedule available in La Jolla, with on-site and remote work options. Requires extensive experience in academic HR and policy interpretation within a large university system.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of relevant experience or a related Bachelor's plus three more years.
• Thorough knowledge of UC/UCOP governance and academic HR policies.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and advise senior officials.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Project management skills with ability to handle deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Experience with institutional data systems and quantitative data analysis.
• Understanding of academic planning, compensation, and policy interpretation in Health Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze academic personnel appointment and advancement files.
• Advise faculty, departmental admins, and managers on rank, leaves, benefits, and compensation policies.
• Manage the academic personnel review cycle for assigned departments.
• Provide policy guidance and interpretation to Health Sciences faculty and administration.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and executive summaries.
