Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Clerk in Yankton, SD to support customers with orders, keep the Hy-Chi area stocked, and ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming space. This hourly role emphasizes friendly service and teamwork in a fast-paced store setting.

You will greet customers, handle orders, maintain product freshness, and follow safety and hygiene standards while contributing to overall store operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to six months of similar or related experience; training provided.
• Customer service orientation and a willingness to learn.
• Basic math abilities including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, taking orders at the Hy-Chi counter, and assisting them throughout the store.
• Review daily orders and ensure adequate food supply by following or creating a production list.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products and pull items from cooler/freezer for cooking.
• Maintain food freshness and quality standards during shifts.
• Check in and store products, review invoices as needed.
• Operate the department register, handle payments, and make change as applicable.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe at all times.
• Remove trash timely and wash dishes as necessary.
• Order products and supplies and price items for customers.
• Answer phones and provide friendly, helpful service including taking orders.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and department guidelines.
• Assist with other tasks or special projects as needed.
