Job summary

Hy-Vee's Hy-Chi Department is seeking a Department Clerk to fill customer orders, prepare and replenish products, and keep the department running smoothly with friendly service.

You will handle counter orders, maintain cleanliness, check product freshness, stock and price items, and provide swift service to shoppers in a fast-paced environment.

This hourly role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and offers training, with wage range based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to six months of related experience; training provided.
• Customer service oriented with attention to detail.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, taking orders at the Hy-Chi counter and assisting with needs throughout the store.
• Review orders for the day and ensure an adequate food supply ready and on hand by following a production list.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary and pull product from cooler/freezer for cooking.
• Review the status and appearance of food for freshness and maintain quality standards throughout the shift.
• Check in product, store it properly, and review invoices as needed.
