Skills

We are seeking a hardware engineering manager to join our team at Amazon Leo. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead the design, implementation and validation of complex space grade hardware electronics targeted to payload antenna systems. As a leader, you will manage, develop and grow your team to deliver results and collaborate with cross functional teams in the organization. You have a good mix of interpersonal skills expected from a manager and technical acumen expected from an engineer. Your ownership and contributions will include:

  • Career development, team review and growth
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, timelines and resources
  • Develop processes, mechanisms for efficient execution on priorities
  • Execute on a HW development process for complex antenna systems
  • Innovate with your team on challenges unique to Leo
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team for complete system integrity and performance
  • Lead and coordinate technical trades in various areas such PCB development, digital electronics, high speed serial interfaces, reliability and “design for X”
  • Lead the team developing the hardware for advanced antenna systems in space application
Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of industrial experience especially in board level analog/digital design with large ASIC’s
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leading role and a management position
  • 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
  • 5+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
  • Experience with advanced CAD tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with developing hardware for space applications
  • Experience with the entire NPI process
  • Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc)
  • Experience in design, implementation, bring up and debugging of HW from prototypes to manufacturing
  • Familiarity with power supply design

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
