Job description

Nokia is seeking engineers with up-to-date knowledge in cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), Virtual Design and simulations, Automation, Data Analytics, RF/Microwave modeling, Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Lateral-Diffused Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (LDMOS) Power amplifiers (PA), sustainable energy savings, and Cloud Computing, which enable faster time to market and ultimate product quality, the best in the industry.

Design and develop RF/microwave circuits and power amplifiers from concept to final production:

  • RF component definition and specification
  • Implementation of different RF amplifier classes and architectures, matching networks, and other design techniques.
  • Test and troubleshoot RF components and amplifiers, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Perform simulations and analysis using simulation tools such as ADS, ANSYS, Microwave Office, and HFSS.
  • Interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, software and mechanical engineers, and manufacturing operations for the successful integration of power amplifiers on final RF radios.

Travel: up to 10%, domestic and international

You have:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of RF/microwave design with focus on power amplifier design: knowledge of amplifier classes, matching networks, power amplifier architectures, and design techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of high power GaN device technology and Doherty Power Amplifiers
  • Knowledge/Experience with CAD tools like Mentor Expedition or ADS layout.
  • Knowledge/Experience with RF/Microwave simulation tools - ADS, ANSYS, HFSS, and Microwave office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Hands‑on experience testing and optimizing high power RF amplifiers in a laboratory environment
  • Experience working with Nokia radio products
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Previous industrial experience preferred
  • MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous Nokia PA design experience.
  • Basic knowledge of digital pre‑distortion principles
  • Proven track record - previous involvement in successful product development programs is a definite plus
Personal Attributes:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical leadership potential is a plus
  • Mentorship skills working with both junior and senior level RF power amplifier designers
  • Good planner and organizer.
