Job summary

San Bernardino City Unified School District is seeking an HVACR Mechanic to install, repair and maintain refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and energy management control systems in support of the District maintenance program.

The ideal candidate has completed an apprenticeship in HVAC/R and EMCS, or three years of related experience; EPA Universal Certification and a California driver’s license are required. This is a non-exempt, open & promotional posting with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship in the heating-air conditioning-refrigeration trade and EMCS.
• Three years of paid experience performing installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R and energy management control systems.
• High school graduation or the equivalent. Substitutions may apply for one of the three years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and services heating, refrigeration, air conditioning equipment and energy management systems.
• Inspects and tests equipment and control systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Operates power tools, estimates time and material costs, and maintains records.
