Job summary

Alliance Mechanical, a Tech24 Company, is seeking an HVACR technician in the Chicago area to minimize equipment downtime and ensure customer operations run safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in commercial HVAC/refrigeration, EPA Universal Certification, and strong diagnostic skills. You will work independently, document service activity, and participate in ongoing training while representing the company professionally.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, airflow systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk‑in coolers/freezers, reach‑ins, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, and exhaust/make‑up air systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed.
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance plans.
• Maintain EPA compliance and adhere to all local, state and federal safety regulations.
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked.
• Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high‑quality customer service.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities.
