Job summary

Wichita Public Schools seeks a Mechanical Systems Crewperson to perform maintenance and repair on HVACR and building automation systems in district facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform startups and servicing of DDC equipment, and ensure proper operation of chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, and DOAS systems.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to fabricate ductwork, and adherence to district safety policies. Travel between sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in diagnosing HVACR issues and systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for systems in educational facilities.
• Ability to fabricate and modify sheet metal ductwork.
• Familiarity with building automation and controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVACR and mechanical systems including chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, DOAS, VAV, VRF, pumps, and VFDs.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety policies during servicing.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair heating and cooling systems across district facilities.
• Replace filters, belts, bearings, motors, and other HVACR components.
