Maize USD 266 is seeking an experienced HVAC staff member to join the facilities team for a full-time, 12-month position in the district. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems across district buildings to ensure efficient operation.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of mechanical/electronic systems, strong time management and problem-solving skills, and HVAC experience with an apprentice license

Qualifications

  • Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of mechanical systems and electronics, time management,problem-solving
  • Experience: Previous HVAC experience. Apprentice license with journeyman preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors heating, air conditioning, and ventilation in order to maintain a comfortable and safe work and environment
  • Maintains equipment to keep operating costs low and to assure efficient operation
  • Maintains food service equipment so students and staff can be served efficiently
  • Cleans areas around HVAC equipment to keep equipment running efficiently
  • Follow all maintenance procedures and complete documentation
  • Complete maintenance records and submit as required
  • Analyze and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Follow district policies and safety regulations
  • Assists with snow removal as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned in order to ensure a well-maintained, clean, orderly and safe environment. Overtime may be required.

The primary job is to repair and maintain the heating, air conditioning, and ventilation for the school district buildings to ensure efficient and proper operation.

Lifting: Up to 50 pounds

Environment: Primarily indoors but subject to extreme conditions, rooftops, will need to navigate between district facilities

Mental Demands: Maintain focus, decision making, remain composed under pressure
