Job summary

Walla Walla Community College seeks adjunct HVACR instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach courses at multiple campuses, including correctional facilities. The role is part-time and pooled for ongoing scheduling needs, with opportunities to advise and support incarcerated students.

Qualifications

• Five years of recent work experience in refrigeration and air conditioning.
• EPA Refrigerant Handling and Low Voltage Electrical certification.
• Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned HVACR classes in accordance with WWCC course descriptions and schedule requirements.
• Must be able to teach single and three phase electrical including transformers, AC and DC motors.
• Must have skills to teach electrical equations that requires algebra and trigonometry.
• Must have knowledge of water flow, air flow, refrigerant flow calculations, and gas laws.
• Must be able to teach the theory of Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning, and Commercial Refrigeration.
• Monitor and document student performance based on curriculum requirements and attendance.
• Collaborate with personnel in the HVACR industry as advisors for the HVACR program and to facilitate job development for students during and after their program of study.
• Incorporate relevant technology into classroom presentations.
• Maintain safe work practices, tools, and equipment, keeping environment clean and organized
• Provide advising for students.
• Participate in department and college activities, committees, advisory boards, etc., as appropriate.
