Job summary

Tyler Junior College seeks an HVAC Technician to assist in the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will support preventive maintenance and diagnose issues to ensure safe, energy‑efficient operations.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, repair up to 30 tons, and assisting with installation of new systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of demonstrated ability to apply trade techniques.
• Associate’s Degree preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of HVACR systems.
• Maintain and repair HVAC equipment up to 30 tons, including split systems and package units.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections; recommend repairs as needed to keep equipment in good condition.
• Troubleshoot problems using electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic testing equipment.
• Assist in installing new air conditioning systems and related equipment.
• Work under supervision of Utilities/Energy Management and perform other duties as assigned.
