Job summary

What you will do

Johnson Controls Inc. seeks experienced HVAC technicians to support the growing HVAC business in North America. Your role will involve high‑level customer service, maintenance, repair and replacement of commercial heating and cooling systems, and providing solutions and upsell opportunities at commissioning and after‑sales service.

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial HVAC systems.
• Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
• Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes at commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Provide recommendations, solutions and detailed quotes to customers.

How you will do it

Qualifications and Experience

• Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Pipe Fitting (UAPCF).
• Minimum of 3 years commercial and/or industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience (rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing).
• Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and vibration equipment for troubleshooting drivelines.
• Willingness to travel 10%‑20% to support branch customers.
• Pass a knowledge examination assessing HVAC proficiencies.
• Enrollment in training programs to acquire HVAC product knowledge and sales quoting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, digital and written communication skills – ability to explain problems, causes and corrective actions to customers.
• Able to write and present customer quotes and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
• Self‑starter with passion for learning, attention to safety, and ability to prioritize safe practices.
• Valid EPA refrigerants license, state/local licensing (as required), and valid driver’s license.

Compensation

Hourly pay of $46.23, determined by CBA/rate sheet. Benefits provided through the local labor union under the collective bargaining agreement.
