Job summary

University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill is seeking a HVAC Training & Safety Officer to develop and deliver safety and technical training for personnel working with HVACR systems on campus.

You will create lesson plans, provide hands-on instruction, monitor safety equipment, maintain records and promote professional development while supporting complex DX units, chillers and boiler systems on a busy university campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some licenses or certifications may be needed.
• EPA 608 refrigerant certification required for system work.
• Experience with HVAC service, repairs and installation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver safety and technical training for HVAC personnel.
• Create lesson plans, materials, schedules and provide hands-on instruction.
• Monitor safety equipment and maintain training records and progress.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on DX systems, chillers and boilers.
