Job summary

Daikin Applied, a leading HVAC company, seeks an HVAC Test Technician III to join our expanding lab in Plymouth, Minnesota. The role conducts tests and maintains equipment per ISO 17025 and internal procedures, with a 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

You will set up and operate complex lab instruments, report nonconformities, and collaborate with project teams to ensure quality and safety standards. Training and growth are emphasized in a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or equivalent experience.
• Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred).
• Fork truck, man lift, universal card, or R410a card (preferred).
• Mentorship experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with ISO 17025 and procedures.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Maintain EH&S safety and a clean work area.
• Provide direction and training to other technicians (senior roles only).
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.

Shift Hours

• 1st shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday – Friday

Your Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times.
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams.
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications.
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements.
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures.
• Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.
• Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only).

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
