Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College is seeking an HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems and related components at Prince William - 153. This full-time role requires nonexempt status and a competitive salary range.

The position is not eligible for telework and involves hands-on responsibilities in a campus facilities environment. Responsibilities include diagnostics, seasonal startup coordination, preventive maintenance, system repairs, and emergency support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work with little supervision.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Experience with building automation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular diagnostic testing and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
• Coordinate seasonal startup and shutdown.
• Complete preventive maintenance assignments in a timely manner.
• HVAC maintenance and repair.
• Troubleshoot and locate faults in wiring, controls, relays, and connectors.
• Keep an inventory of HVAC supplies and inform Facilities Manager of quantities on hand or required.
• Perform maintenance work and support emergency operations.
