Job summary

Shenandoah National Park, under ExplorUS park operations, seeks an HVAC I to assist in installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems at the Stanley, VA location. The role supports a team dedicated to preserving the park’s facilities while serving visitors with reliable comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HVAC maintenance, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to work varied shifts in a resort/national park setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree or technical/trade training preferred.
• 5+ years HVAC construction/maintenance experience required.
• Resort/National Park experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification Card required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in HVAC installation, repairs and maintenance, repairing control systems, heating/air conditioning repairs, burners, steam fitting, brazing, rebuilding pumps and valves, and related work.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilating and cooling systems, pneumatic/digital controls systems and machinery under supervision.
• Interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, diagrams, codes and manuals.
• Inspects equipment and machinery to determine proper functioning.
• Assists in moving and installing equipment and service lines.
• Lubricates equipment and checks for malfunctions.
• Provides for a safe work environment by following safety procedures and rules.
• Understands ISO environmental/quality management systems and responsibilities.
• Other duties per duties checklist and assignments.
