    DISTRICT OVERVIEW:

    Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,900 staff members, serving approximately 13,300 students pre-K – post secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center, and 1 vocational and transition center in the school district. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $175 million, with a state funding of $9,608 per pupil.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Mechanical Contractors License with Heating and Refrigeration Endorsements is preferred.
    2. A working knowledge of DDC Systems is a plus.
    3. Knowledge of pneumatic controls is a plus.
    4. Must have a good working knowledge of commercial heating and boiler systems, commercial air conditioning and commercial refrigeration systems.
    5. Must be familiar with electrical control systems and be able to read schematics.
    6. Must have or be able to obtain a Chauffeur's License.
    7. Must be physically able to help move and lift heavy equipment.
    8. Must have no fear of working in high places.
    9. Must be self-motivated and willing to work in a team environment.
    10. Willingness to accept additional training is a requirement.
    11. Must be willing to do other duties as assigned.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Regular working hours are 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. All maintenance employees are subject to call in 24 hours per day, any day of the week, and must work the necessary hours required. An outstanding attendance record is a must.

    Specific details involved in the position will be discussed with the administrator during the interview and at the time of hiring for the position.

    Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement between the Livonia Public Schools School District and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO Local 118, Council 25.
