Job summary

Northwest Career College in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an HVAC Instructor to teach courses, prepare exams, and support student learning. The role requires EPA Section 608 Universal certification and at least two years of HVAC technician experience.

The instructor will also participate in meetings, maintain professional appearance, and ensure instructional quality in classroom and online settings. The position is adjunct/on-call with evening hours (Mon-Thu 4 p.m.–10 p.m.) and a compensation range

• Two years of in-field HVAC experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC courses per syllabus as directed by supervisor.

About this position

Job Summary

The HVAC Instructor is responsible for performing tasks that increase the college's productivity and efficiency. Additionally, they will continue to maintain the professionalism and decorum expected of the staff at Northwest Career College. Must have an EPA Section 608 Universal certification and two years of experience as an HVAC technician.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC courses according to the lesson plan and syllabus as directed by the program supervisor
• Prepare and grade written and practical examinations
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other events as required by the College
• Dress professionally in accordance with the faculty dress code
• Ensure that the quality and quantity of instruction provided in the classroom are consistent with the stated objectives of our school and industry.
• Ensure that the classroom and the school’s atmosphere are conducive to maximum learning and retention of students.
• Instructing students during the classroom experience
• Administering Online Courses
• Tutoring sessions online and in-person
• Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information
• Administering the final exam (written and/or practical) on the last day of the module
• Submit final course grades before the end of the week after the end of the term
• Other duties as assigned by the program supervisor

Experience

• REQUIRED: In-field experience: 2 or more years

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques

License/Certification

Education

• REQUIRED HS Diploma or equivalent
• PREFERRED Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in the field

• Monday - Thursday: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
• Friday-Sunday: Off
• $34.62-$35.10/hr (Based on Prior Education and Experience)
