Job summary

Paris Independent School District is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across district facilities.

Under general supervision, you will ensure safe operation and efficiency of HVAC systems. Requires HVAC Certification, a High school diploma or GED, and a Texas driver’s license. 5 years of experience preferred; reports to Director of Maintenance. Starting immediately; salary listed at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must hold HVAC Certification
• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• 5 years experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, repair/replace/ calibrate controls (thermostats, switches)
• Install new HVAC systems and components, relocate/expand systems as needed, fabricate/assemble/install duct work and piping per code and connect components
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures, change filters, clean condensers/ coils, duct cleaning and air quality testing
• Receive and complete work orders, estimate materials/labor costs, maintain records
• Inspect completed work and ensure area cleanliness
• Maintain inventory of tools/equipment, manage coolant records for federal requirements
• Assist energy manager in energy conservation surveys for cost-effective HVAC use
• Respond to emergency calls as needed
