Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Experienced Technician II - HVAC in Cortland, NY to perform standard testing and evaluation on a range of products and prepare technical reports. Shifts include 2nd (4:00 PM–12:30 AM) and 3rd (12:00 AM–8:30 AM) with a 10% differential.

The role requires setting up test apparatus, operating and maintaining equipment, collecting data, and drafting reports; strong communication skills and basic shop tool proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1.5 years experience or equivalent.
• Associate degree or formal training plus 6 months experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and convey technical information clearly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up test apparatus.
• Operate equipment.
• Maintain equipment and facilities.
• Prepare test samples.
• Record test data per standards.
• Perform basic data analysis and calculations.
• Draft technical reports (as needed).
• Extract and compile engineering data.
• Prepare project files for procedures compliance.
• Communicate with clients and management.
• Perform other duties as required.
