Job summary

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center CHMC Maintenance is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic II for the day shift (7-3). You will perform repair, preventive maintenance, and service on air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including monitoring refrigerant use and maintaining documentation.

The role requires working in a hospital environment with on-call rotations. Qualifications include a high school diploma or trade training, EPA 608 certification or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational training required.
• EPA 608 Certification or equivalent required with experience.
• NYS DEC Pesticide Applicators licensure within two years of date.
• BLS certification and Crisis Intervention Training are expected.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair, maintenance, and PM on air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Track refrigerant usage and complete related reporting.
• Install and service HVAC/R equipment per schematics and manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain inventories of parts, tools, and equipment; maintain safety practices.
