George Mason University is seeking a Trades Technician 3 in Facilities & Campus Operations on a full-time, on-site basis at Fairfax, VA. The role focuses on HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, with emphasis on safety and reliable campus operations.

Applicants must have 4+ years in the HVAC trade, a high school diploma, and EPA refrigerant licenses. Eligible for GMU benefits and subject to background checks; driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Progressive experience in the HVAC trade (4+ years).
• EPA-approved refrigerant recovery license (Type I-III) required.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, safety practices, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of university HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot components to identify failures and perform repairs.
• Maintain and operate vehicles, equipment, and tools as required.
• Follow safety procedures and university policies; participate in snow removal when needed.
