Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Technician 2 to deliver, install and service portable HVAC equipment for customers. The role requires professional communication, safe operation of equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot a range of climate-control gear.

Eligible candidates typically have 3–5 years of HVAC experience, basic math skills, a valid driver’s license, and are willing to work after hours/weekends as needed. HVAC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of formal HVAC experience/training.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Able to work after hours and weekends during peak times.
• HVAC Certificate preferred; state licensing for refrigeration work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Delivers and installs rented HVAC equipment; trains authorized operator (and/or customer) on safe use of equipment.
• Directs customers to sign appropriate paperwork; keeps track of serial numbers.
• Troubleshoots and understands operation and controls of rental equipment.
• Operates company vehicle safely and follows safety policies.
• Cleans and tests returned equipment for proper operation and appearance.
• Completes paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Installs flexible gas hose on propane and natural gas applications.
• Checks gas connections with proper procedures.
• Maintains records of in-stock and rented equipment with managers and sales engineers.
• On-call for emergency service on a rotating weekend/evening schedule.
