Job summary

Irving ISD seeks an HVAC Technician I to maintain the district's HVAC systems and support educational programs. This nonexempt, full-time role reports to the HVAC Lead and requires a state-certified HVAC background and a valid Universal Refrigerant Recovery license.

Starting pay ranges from $22.62 to $33.39 per hour with a standard benefits package. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to read, write, and follow instructions precisely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and HVAC trade school certification.
• Must possess valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
• Must possess or obtain Universal Refrigerant Recovery certificate within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose causes of malfunctions in HVAC systems.
• Repair or replace failed components or systems safely.
• Provide on‑the‑job instructions and training to other employees.
• Assist HVAC Lead and other technicians.
• Respond to pages on‑call in a timely manner.
• Maintain high safety standards during duties.
• Record material and labor costs and progress for supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the HVAC Lead or supervisors.
