Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment in the Office of Budget and Finance, Division of Property Management. The role requires two years of relevant experience and certification readiness.

Under supervision, you will handle installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance, with opportunities to advance within the department.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, air conditioning, refrigerating, and ventilating equipment.
• Related education may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to two years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts electrical, plumbing, refrigerating, ventilating, exhaust, and control systems associated with heating and air conditioning equipment and accessories. Replaces and disposes of refrigerant chemicals.
• Performs beginning and intermediate level installation and repair of equipment and accessories. Replaces components of large equipment as instructed. Removes and installs window units.
• Assists with and learns major repair, installation, and maintenance procedures for heating and air conditioning units, pumps, and related equipment, controls, and accessories.
• Drives an automobile or light truck to transport workers, tools, or equipment to and from job sites.
