Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an HVAC Technician 1 to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX. The role focuses on delivering portable HVAC equipment, installing it at customer sites, and training operators on safe use.

You’ll also support shop operations by inspecting, cleaning, and preparing gear for rentals and coordinating with other tech staff on larger jobs. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a customer-facing service role, basic math skills, and a mechanical mindset.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of service-related experience interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills required.
• Mechanical inclination is essential.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after hours and weekends during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train users on safe operation.
• Direct customers to sign paperwork and track serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot operation, specifications and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate company vehicle safely and follow safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment, ensuring operation and appearance.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups and service calls.
• Install gas hoses for propane and natural gas applications.
• Check gas connections safely.
• Maintain accurate records of in-stock and rented equipment, in coordination with management.
• Be on call for emergency service on a rotating schedule for weekends/evenings.
