Job summary

Worlds of Fun LLC is seeking an HVAC Technician to oversee installation, maintenance and repair of park HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems. The role includes working with walk-in freezers and ice machines, reading blueprints, and coordinating with the Maintenance department to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will perform troubleshooting, operate gauges and testing equipment, and support guest services while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of electrical, soldering, welding and refrigeration charging.
  • Ability to read materials (including blueprints and drawings) to interpret and analyze content.
  • Ability to operate: standard refrigeration gauges, vehicles, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment, acetylene torches, standard hand and power tools, telephone, handheld two-way radio, manlift/forklift, computer.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory drug test and background check per company policy unless prohibited by law.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation, maintenance and repair of industrial and commercial HVAC systems according to blueprints and engineering specs.
  • Drill holes and install mounting brackets; assemble components with fasteners, welds and brazes.
  • Pumps specified gases or fluids and adjusts valves, controls and gauges to manage pressure and temperature.
  • Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
  • Provide guest service according to park standards when interacting with guests or colleagues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area and comply with safety guidelines.
  • Meet scheduling availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Adhere to park rules and conduct policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the installation, maintanance and repair of industrial and commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigerating systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications, using knowledge of refrigeration, structural layout and function and design of components. Lays out reference points for installation of structural and functional components using measuring instruments.
  • Drills holes and installs mounting brackets and hangers. Manually lifts and aligns components into position. Screws, bolts, rivets, welds and brazes parts to assemble structural and functional components such as motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores and pipes.
  • Pumps specified gas or fluid into system. Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure and temperature in system.
  • Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment.
  • Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair system.
  • Provides guest service according to Enchanted Parks standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Enchanted Parks Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Enchanted Parks attendance requirements as outlined in Enchanted Parks attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Enchanted Parks Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Ability to understand English at a level sufficient to receive and perform basic job assignments and instructions.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Walking and standing on concrete and asphalt for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to gasoline, oils, steam, propane, fiberglass dust, welding materials, oxygen, freon, acetylene, cleaning, solvents, and paint fumes.
  • Average sense of touch needed to determine hot from cold and soft from hard. Must be able to sense resistance when using hand tools.

  • Average sense of smell required to detect fumes, odors and chemicals.
  • Average vision needed for inspection of HVAC components, reading gauges, and identifying problems

  • Average hearing needed to listen for gas/air leaks.
  • Must be able to climb to and work at a height of 50 feet for the installation, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC equipment

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment with appropriate training (PPE)
