Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain and repair environmental control systems in a secure, institutional setting. The role includes diagnosing malfunctions, repairing HVAC units, ductwork, and related controls, with preventive maintenance across mechanical and electrical equipment.

Qualification requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2 years of HVAC experience, EPA 608 license, a valid driver's license, and being at least 21 years old. Domestic U.S.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience with large commercial HVAC systems and general building automation systems required.
• Must possess a Type 1 or Type 2 EPA 608 license.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and diagnoses malfunctions and tests operation after repair.
• Operates a variety of tools and diagnostic hardware.
• Troubleshoots, repairs or installs HVAC units and associated ductwork.
• Installs/computes and adjusts automated HVAC controls.
• Performs preventive maintenance on motors, pumps, fans, and sensors.
• Maintains supervision and coordination of inmates/residents in the Maintenance Department.
