Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment on facilities systems including air handlers, chilled water, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters, boilers, etc.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules on facility and launch-related HVAC systems
- Collaborate with engineering and management to keep systems in peak condition
- Follow all regulations and SpaceX procedures, including safety and quality policies, OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, ASME, NEC standards
- Perform ductwork modifications and repairs
- Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation, and charging of refrigerants
- Modify and repair water piping and insulation
- Assist with maintenance of compressed air and industrial door systems
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA 608 Universal certification
- At least 1 year of professional experience with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate degree in HVAC technology
- Knowledge in HVAC, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, tubing, pipefittings, rotating machinery, and fasteners
- Universal certification from ARI
- Knowledge of high-pressure gases and refrigeration gases
- Experience maintaining HEPA filters and air handling units
- Understanding of refrigeration, motors, heat pumps, and mechanics
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment
- VFD maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with building management systems like JCI Metasys
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Work shift: Sunday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, work in cramped spaces, climb, lift 50 lbs., and operate at heights
- Ability to work in environments with fumes, odors, noise
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
