Job summary

Adams County is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform a range of semi-skilled and skilled work in operation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of HVAC systems and building maintenance.

Must have 3 years of HVAC repair/maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED with an apprenticeship, CO driver’s license, and Universal Refrigerant Certificate. Background checks and physical duties apply.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of responsible experience in HVAC repair and maintenance is required.
  • High school diploma or GED with completion of a building trade apprenticeship program in electrical, maintenance, refrigeration, heating, cooling, or related field is required.
  • Possession of a valid CO driver’s license without restrictions is required.
  • Universal Refrigerant Certificate is required.
  • NATE Certifications (Air Conditioning Service and Installation; Gas Heating Service and Installation) are preferred.
  • ICC Mechanical Journeyman Certificate is preferred.
  • Background check: criminal, motor vehicle; intensive process may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, repair, and inspect a variety of HVAC controls and equipment, including boilers, chillers, and pumps.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC equipment through electrical, mechanical, and control work.
  • Inspect HVAC systems to identify maintenance needs and safety issues.
  • Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints for installation and repair projects.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and logs for all HVAC systems.
  • Adhere to safety, codes, and company policies during installation and maintenance.
