Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
  • WA 06A or 07 license preferred.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Friendly and communicative with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an eye for small issues.
  • Technologically proficient with field tools and apps.
  • Team player who holds both self and team accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Start-Up & Commissioning: perform initial startup and commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment and control systems, ensuring proper operation and documentation.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems and ancillary equipment.
  • Controls Optimization: repair and fine-tune building control systems for efficiency and comfort.
  • Preventive Maintenance: perform routine PMs and scheduled inspections to prevent downtime.
  • Component Work: install, replace, or repair HVAC components and calibrate controls.
  • Refrigeration Systems: inspect and maintain refrigeration equipment with EPA refrigerant handling.
  • Ductwork & Piping: repair/ install ductwork and piping for airflow integrity.
  • Collaboration & Independence: work with project teams and handle smaller service calls independently.
  • Customer Rapport: build trust with facility managers and occupants; communicate findings clearly.
  • Problem Solving & “Extra Mile”: diagnose complex issues and propose solutions.
  • Sales Support: assist Comfort Advisors with equipment sizing and replacement proposals.
  • Mentorship: train apprentices and elevate team skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Start-Up & Commissioning: Perform initial start-up and commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment and control systems, ensuring proper operation and documentation.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems (e.g., split systems, package units, rooftop units, boilers, VRF, chillers) and ancillary equipment (pumps, cooling towers).
  • Controls Optimization: Repair and fine-tune building control systems to maximize energy efficiency, usability, and occupant comfort.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Execute routine preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on all HVAC equipment—catching issues early to prevent downtime.
  • Component Work: Install, replace, or repair HVAC components (motors, compressors, valves, sensors) and calibrate thermostatic and programmable controls.
  • Refrigeration Systems: Inspect and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment—refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps—with EPA‑compliant refrigerant handling.
  • Ductwork & Piping: Repair, replace, or install ductwork, piping, and other supporting system components to maintain airflow and system integrity.
  • Collaboration & Independence: Partner with project teams on large commercial installs, while also owning smaller service calls and repairs independently.
  • Customer Rapport: Build trust and rapport with facility managers and building occupants—communicate findings clearly and follow through on commitments.
  • Problem Solving & “Extra Mile”: Diagnose complex issues, propose creative solutions, and consistently go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Support: Work hand‑in‑hand with Comfort Advisors to size equipment, craft replacement proposals, and support new‑equipment sales.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train apprentice technicians—sharing best practices and elevating the entire team’s skill set.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experienced: 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
  • Licensed: WA 06A or 07 preferred.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Friendly & Communicative: You connect easily with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Problem‑Solver: You thrive on troubleshooting and delivering effective solutions.
  • Detail‑Oriented: You catch small issues before they become big problems.
