Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company in Winchester is seeking a Licensed HVAC Technician to join the Maintenance team. This hourly role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and control issues, read blueprints, and document work orders while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid HVAC license required
• EPA certification required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical school training or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field preferred
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems preferred
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, and refrigeration principles
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and standard hand tools
• Ability to read technical documents and follow maintenance procedures
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems or work order tracking
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on air handlers, rooftop units, split systems, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, and related equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues to restore equipment quickly and safely
• Install, replace, and test HVAC components including motors, belts, compressors, valves, filters, thermostats, and sensors
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and energy efficiency
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies
• Support facility maintenance needs as required and coordinate with production, operations, or contractors when needed
• Help maintain compliance with applicable mechanical, electrical, environmental, and safety standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials within required job limits
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and plant or outdoor conditions
• Ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues, including possible off-shift, weekend, or on-call support

Physical Considerations: 1. Requires frequent walking and extended periods of standing 2. Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. 3. Ability to climb 4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (steel-toed shoes, hair and beard nets, bump caps, gloves, eye protection, etc.) 5. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment 6.
