Job summary

SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT is seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration technician for Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia. You will repair and maintain HVAC systems across the park, perform preventive maintenance, and document procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of HVAC experience, and EPA Universal certification. Candidates must be able to lift and work at heights, and be available for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Technical trade school or equivalent experience with an emphasis on HVAC/Refrigeration.
• At least 2 years of practical HVAC/Refrigeration experience or combo of HVAC/Refrigeration and trade school.
• EPA Universal level certification reading blueprints.
• Experience in HVAC Controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repair of HVAC/Refrigeration systems throughout the parks.
• Train in general system operations and procedures.
• Complete all scheduled preventive HVAC maintenance.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Maintain inventory control and review ordering needs with leadership.
• Maintain department standards for attendance and performance.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you get to do:

You will repair and perform daily routine inspections of all HVAC/Refrigeration systems in the parks. Specifically, you will:

• Perform field repair of HVAC/ Refrigeration systems throughout the parks
• Train in general system operations and functions, as well as procedures and routines
• Complete all scheduled preventive HVAC maintenance
• Complete all required documentation
• Maintain proficiency in all manufacturing manuals related to Park HVAC equipment
• Maintain inventory control and review ordering needs with leadership
• Keep working areas neat, clean, and tidy
• Complete tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines
• Maintain department standards performance in terms of attendance, performance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required

What it takes to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years of age
• Technical trade school or equivalent experience with an emphasis on HVAC/ Refrigeration
• At least 2 years of practical HVAC/Refrigeration experience or combination of HVAC/ Refrigeration experience & trade school experience
• Knowledgeable in the reading of and working from blueprints and/or drawing EPA Universal level certification
• Experience in HVAC Controls
• Valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain a company driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to repetitively climb stairs
• Comfortable working at heights up to 100ft
• Ability to climb and work off of ladders
• Comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes, with or without A/C
• Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts including weekends and holidays

What else is important:

• HVAC/Refrigeration controls experience preferred
• VFD knowledge and troubleshooting experience preferred
• HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance of food service equipment preferred
• Experience with Commercial refrigeration preffered
• Mechanical engineering is a plus
