Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems for our facilities. You will work with CMMS work orders, document all activities, and ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment, from boilers to VAVs, with a focus on reliability and safety. Strong communication and ability to work with subcontractors are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of commercial or residential HVAC maintenance experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and as‑built drawings.
  • EPA 608 Certification preferred/required.
  • Valid Driver's License in state of residence.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and some corrective HVAC maintenance per CMMS work orders.
  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including motors, pumps, VAVs, fans, and boilers.
  • Ensure safe operation and document work per procedures and codes.
  • Escort subcontractors and oversee on-site work as needed.

CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, and program management and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally. CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients.

A Brief Overview

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for both preventive and corrective HVAC maintenance work and minimal installations with our client.

What You Will Do
  • Performs preventive and some corrective maintenance services to existing HVAC equipment corresponding to work orders generated from a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Complete all documentation of work performed in compliance with the CMMS data collection process.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, Variable Air Volume (VAV), and fan-powered boxes.
  • Maintains the safe operation of systems, including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls, oil- and gas-fired water-tube boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, deaerating tanks, air compressors, and blowers.
  • Examines environmental control and stationary systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection/testing and monitoring techniques, while demonstrating safe and proper tool use.
  • Must be able to quickly become familiar with the design and layout of the facilities; learn the locations of installed environmental control and monitoring systems/equipment; and understand operating procedures relating to environmental controls.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of CGL Facility Management, LLC, OSHA, and our clients.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Escorts subcontractors during completion of their work at the site.
  • Performs other preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as directed by CGL Facility Management.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
  • Completes all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
  • May be required to assist in training other technicians in unlike skillsets some basics of the trade. Provides mentorship, oversight, and direction.
  • This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years years’s commercial or residential HVAC maintenance experience required.
  • Have good working knowledge of HVAC-related equipment and one or more of the following trades/skills: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
  • Willing and able to work occasional on-call shifts.
  • Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Certifications may be required.
  • Requires a self-motivated, team player who can multitask, and prioritize as well as demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to interact effectively with our clients.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State required.
  • EPA 608 Certification required.
  • HVAC Certification preferred.
