Job summary

Staples Energy is seeking an HVAC Technician in San Diego, CA to support energy efficiency programs. The role requires at least two years of HVAC experience, EPA 608 certification, and completion of an HVAC training program.

Travel to client sites for inspections, repairs, and installations of energy-efficient measures will be common, with emphasis on safety and quality. The ideal candidate will communicate well in English, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and meet daily

Qualifications

• Minimum two years HVAC experience.
• Must hold a valid EPA 608 Certification.
• Completion of an HVAC training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship.
• NGAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect customers' current HVAC equipment, identify problems, and perform repairs or routine maintenance.
• Identify all materials/equipment needed to complete the project.
• Install energy-efficiency measures such as windows, doors, lighting, and minor home repairs.
• Troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve issues during installation/repair to ensure proper operation.
• Perform gas appliance tests to ensure safety.
• Keep the worksite clean and safely dispose of materials.
• Collaborate as part of the project crew and train other members.
• Respond to customer inquiries.
• Ensure projects and schedules are met.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a HVAC Technician with experience to provide support to our energy efficiency programs located in San Diego, CA. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of experience and knowledge in installing and /or maintaining electrical, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing projects.

Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician will travel to each client’s location to inspect their current equipment, identify problems with their units, and perform necessary repairs or routine maintenance. This position will also provide installation of energy‑efficient weatherization measures such as lighting and HVAC, including repair work, modification, or replacement, with the highest quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Inspect customers current HVAC equipment, identify problems with their units, and perform necessary repairs or routine maintenance
• Identify all material/ equipment needed to complete the project
• Installation of energy efficiency measures such as windows, doors, lighting, and minor home repairs
• Must be able to troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve/repair all issues that arise during an installation /repair that would keep the equipment from functioning properly
• Performing all necessary gas appliance tests to ensure safety
• Keep worksite clean and safely dispose of the material
• Actively contributes as a member of the project crew, providing and supporting the training of other members
• Respond to customer inquiries
• Ensure projects and schedules are met
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum two 2 years of HVAC experience
• Must hold a valid EPA 608 Certification
• Completion of an HVAC training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship
• NGAT certification preferred
• Knowledge of the energy field
• Experience in carpentry or construction field
• Proficient spoken and written English
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Participate in evening or weekend support when needed
• Work well both independently and as a member of a high-performance team
• Punctuality and ability to meet daily schedules
• Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
• Maintain a good driving record and valid driver’s license
• Pass all background and drug screens

Pay Range:

$28.00-$35.00
