Job summary

JLL in Round Rock, TX is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain critical building systems across commercial properties. You will diagnose, repair, and service chillers, boilers, air handling units, and BAS, working independently and with a team to ensure comfort and efficiency for occupants.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, HVAC training, and EPA 608 Universal Certification; 5+ years of hands-on experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing on HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and rooftops
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize downtime
• Respond to service calls and emergencies with effective troubleshooting
• Monitor and adjust BAS to maintain temperature control and energy standards
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS and coordinate with teams for major repairs
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and contractors for system upgrades
• Ensure safety, codes, and environmental regulations are followed

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing on HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and rooftop units
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance
• Respond to service calls and building emergencies, troubleshooting problems efficiently and implementing effective solutions
• Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to maintain temperature control and energy efficiency standards
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Collaborate with engineering teams, property managers, and contractors to coordinate system upgrades and major repairs
• Maintain compliance with all safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations while performing daily tasks

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a recognized HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC systems
• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Strong knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, electrical controls, and building automation systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and navigate confined spaces

Preferred qualifications:

• Journeyman or Master HVAC license (state‑specific where applicable)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Experience in commercial real estate
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
