Qualifications

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing highly skilled, discipline-specific tasks to ensure the smooth operation of Universal Orlando Facilities, focusing on all industrial, commercial, and non-commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform service on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, supply/exhaust fans, pumps, valves, piping, and associated controls and accessories across the site. Assist with quick calls and support BMS with BAS troubleshooting and repairs.
  2. Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, or replace all mechanical components in walk-in freezers, coolers, rack systems, and related controls and accessories across the site.
  3. Provide mechanical and technical guidance to HVAC Tech II and Tech III technicians and apprentices to enhance their education, experience, and skills.
  4. Coordinate with third-party contractors/vendors for infrastructure repairs, upgrades, or replacements of HVAC/R equipment and underground mechanical utilities as required by management.
  5. Assist with preventative maintenance on HVAC/R systems across the site.
  6. Work with the BMS department to modify set points or change BAS schedules as requested. Support BMS with emergency troubleshooting or repairs as needed.
  7. Assist the Coordinator by providing proper documentation for parts ordering.
  8. Follow Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training, actively participating in safety responsibilities.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school education preferred.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5+ years in Commercial/Industrial HVAC/R systems, including building automation systems, boilers, chillers, and related equipment.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • State or County Journeyman’s License, County Competency Card, or State Certified Contractor’s License required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and related systems. Understand complex electrical schematics, BMS control functions, and electrical distribution systems. Analyze system data to improve performance and assist management with contractor supervision and documentation.
