Job summary

A HVAC contracting firm in Newton, Massachusetts is seeking experienced HVAC technicians to join their Service Division. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems, with responsibilities including preventative maintenance and documentation of work. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of chilled water systems and necessary licenses. The ideal applicant will have four to ten years of relevant experience and a valid Driver's License. Qualifications

• Four to ten years of related experience required.
• Valid Driver's License - Class D necessary.
• Field to Base computer training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance of HVAC specific systems.
• Accurately document repairs and maintenance on Service work orders.

Skills

Strong working knowledge of commercial chilled water systems

Familiarity with local/regional Vendors and Manufacturers Representatives

Job Scope:

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial tradeHVAC systems, equipment, and components
• Perform preventative maintenance of commercialHVAC specific systems, equipment, and components
• Accurately document all job‑specific troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on Service work orders and submit them to the Service Dispatcher in a timely manner
• Participate in Emergency On‑Call Service rotation for installations and repairs

Education:

A High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Vocational School Training is helpful but not required.

Experience:

Four to ten years of related experience.

Skills & Abilities:

Computer Skills: Field to Base computer training will be provided.

Certificates & Licenses required: Massachusetts Refrigeration License, EPA certificate.

Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License - Class D & OSHA 10 Certification.

Other Requirements (Trade Specific):

• HVAC: Must have a strong working knowledge of commercial chilled water systems including Chiller (centrifugal and reciprocating) and Tower equipment, pumps, piping, associated controls, and electrical circuits.
• All Trades: Must have knowledge and familiarity with local/regional Vendors and Manufacturers Representatives.
