Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking an HVAC Facilities Technician to support Operations, Engineering & Maintenance. You will install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and related equipment, with emphasis on cleanrooms and ISO-classified spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment such as AHUs, RTUs, condensers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, and ductwork.
• Replace or clean HEPA filters, belts, motors, sensors, and dampers to maintain system efficiency.
• Perform emergency maintenance to minimize disruption to Operations.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, RH, differential pressure) in ISO-classified spaces and respond to alarms in coordination with QA, Validation, and Facilities teams.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and SOP-compliant documentation for audit readiness.
• Assist in HVAC requalification activities, airflow visualization, and pressure balancing in cleanrooms; support environmental monitoring investigations.
• Coordinate with engineers and external contractors for shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades; suggest improvements.
• Maintain building cleanliness and safety per 5S principles and safety policies.

About the Role

This role reports to the Manager of Facilities. The HVAC Facilities Technician provides support to the Operations, Engineering & Maintenance Departments. The HVAC Facilities Technician will install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. The HVAC Facilities Tech will monitor and proactively correct out of spec conditions in the warehouse and labs. The HVAC Facilities Tech works with general supervision and will interact with a supervisor several times per week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. The HVAC Facilities Technician will also be willing to do other functions as assigned by his/her manager.

You Will

• Perform System Maintenance & Repair
  Perform regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment, including AHUs, RTUs, condensers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, and ductwork.
• Replace or clean HEPA filters, pre-filters, belts, motors, sensors, and dampers to maintain system efficiency and cleanroom compliance.
• Perform emergency maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to Operations.
• Perform Environmental Control Monitoring
  Ensure HVAC systems maintain proper temperature, relative humidity (RH), and differential pressure across ISO-classified spaces (ISO 7 and 8). Respond to out-of-spec alarms and environmental alerts in coordination with QA, Validation, and Facilities teams.
• Maintain Documentation & Compliance
  Complete detailed maintenance logs, service reports, and change records to support audit readiness and cGMP documentation requirements. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols during HVAC servicing activities.
• Support for Validated Spaces
  Assist in HVAC requalification activities, airflow visualization (smoke studies), and pressure balancing in cleanrooms. Support environmental monitoring investigations by identifying and resolving HVAC-related root causes.
• Coordination & Communication
  Work with facility engineers, external contractors, and BMS/EMS technicians to coordinate system shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades. Provide feedback on system performance and recommend upgrades or efficiency improvements as needed.
• Building Maintenance - Perform other building maintenance, as assigned by Manager.
• Facility Cleanliness / Safety - Ensure the primary work areas are organized, neat and clean both during and upon completion of maintenance related activities. Adhere to 5S principles. Identify and act immediately regarding any safety hazards, spills, etc., to avoid the risk of accidents. Use safe lifting techniques and operate power equipment in a safe manner. Abide by all stated regulations while performing work. Understands and complies with all hazardous energy policies and procedures including lock-out/tag-out.
• Fabrication - Utilize materials and tools to assist with the creation of custom equipment to support the operation (i.e., wood, metal, etc.).
• Communicate to management all issues that could result in safety risks or those that might cause loss to Hims or its associates.
• Work as directed in all areas of the Warehouse to maintain safety and health standards for the facility.
• Work closely with production personnel to coordinate repairs and minimize disruptions to the manufacturing process.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to implement improvement projects and contribute to the continuous improvement culture within the organization.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to general equipment maintenance.
