Description

A Jersey City-based development/property management company is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on HVAC Technician to join our in-house maintenance team.

This role focuses on repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment for residential and commercial properties throughout Jersey City.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on various HVAC systems
• Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units for residential and commercial properties
• Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot and identify service issues, obtain replacement parts, and calibrate systems to manufacturer specifications
• Communicate findings, issues, and necessary repairs to the supervisor clearly and professionally
• Accurately document all equipment repairs, including make, model, serial number, test measurements, and photos
• Identify and report preventative maintenance opportunities and any deficiencies.

Requirements:

• EPA Certification
• 2+ years of HVAC experience (residential and commercial)
• Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
• Own a set of tools
• Clean background
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and use property management software for tracking maintenance tasks (currently using Yardi software for purchase orders and work orders)
• Weekend & evening availability if scheduled or as needed for emergencies
• Ability to represent the company professionally at all times
• Spanish knowledge is a plus

Position Details:

• Full-time position (40 hours per week)
• Pay: Between $35-$50 per hour (based on experience)
• Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, 401K
