The Van Andel Institute (VAI) is seeking to hire a Full-time HVAC Technician.

Position Overview

VAI’s Maintenance Department is looking for a full-time HVAC Technician III. The mission of the Facilities Department is to maintain a "Best in Class" facility, providing a clean, comfortable, and functional environment that supports employee productivity and well-being.

Responsibilities

1. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of HVAC systems, electrical systems, building support systems, and lab equipment.
2. Complete facility work requests, including intra-Institute moves, utility hook-ups, and event setups in the auditorium and public areas.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification with at least 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or construction for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license in Michigan.
• Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.

Position Details

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive hourly rate based on experience. The position is eligible for benefits.
